【Introduction】

RB-AM-6 is a low cyclic grade,reactive aminoethylaminopropyl functional polydimethylsiloxane,as textile softening agent.

 

【Characteristics and Advantages】                                                                        

(1) Impart excellent softness to most of the fabrics. It imparts a very soft, drapable, and elastic handle to woven and knitted fabrics, considered to be the most excellent softening agent for cotton fabrics and knitwear made of cotton or cotton/PES blends;

(2) Good affinity to most of the fabrics, the organic like nature of the primary & secondary amine groups on amino functional polydimethylsiloxane causes silicone to have excellent affinity for fabrics, resulting in a product with long lasting benefits such as feel & conditioning;

(3) Enhance the physical properties of the fabrics. It improves the wash-and-wear properties and the crease recovery angle, sewability and tear strength, reduces abrasion loss, and imparts excellent slickness & resilience to the fibre;

(4) Emulsions of RB-AM-6 imparts excellent inner softness in the fabrics;

(5) Potentially compatible with most of the chemicals used for textile finishes;

(6) Easy to formulate;

(7) RB-AM-6 is particularly suitable as active substance in softener formulations for the impregnation of fibers and textiles.

Guideline for emulsification of RB-AM-6

Raw materials

Take an example of 1000KG solution:

1. Put462.5KG Water①,64KG Lutensol TO5,32KG Lutensol TO10 and 3KG Glacial acetic acide(HAC) into the reactor ,and stir at 700-750RPM for5 minutes.                                                                                                                    

2. Add150KG RB-AM-6 fluid into the reactor.Mix well under continuous stirring.Continue stirring at the same RPMfor10minutes;The whole mixture is kept under continuous stirring at 750 RPM for 60 minutes;

3.Add 67.5KG water② into reactor and then stir for 10 minutes;

4.Add80KG water③ and stir it for 15 minutes,

5.then add141KG water④and continue stirring it for 15minutes until it becomes homogeneous and transparent.

6.Filter for using.

Stirring speed:700~1500 RPM.
Padding process:    its emulsion（25%）10g/L-50g/L.     
Exhaustion process:  its emulsion（25%）1-5% o.w.f

Processing:
⋆ RB-AM-6 can be applied neat, in form of solution or emulsion. Suitable solvents are aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, higher alcohols, and ketones;

⋆ Most textile processes are water based. HenceRB-AM-6 is mainly applied in emulsion form.RB-AM-6 is suitable for the formulation of microemulsions and macroemulsions;

⋆ RB-AM-6 can be used as sole active substance in softener emulsions or in combination with other components, e.g. paraffines, esters of fatty acids, etc. Compatibility of the components has to be checked in each individual case;

⋆ Emulsions ofRB-AM-6 are diluted to the optimum concentration for the specific fabric. Application can be done by padding or exhaustion.

Preparation method of microemulsion(Extremely easy):

Take an example of 1000KG solution:

1. Put 200KG RB-AM-6 and 100KG emulsifier into the reactor ,and stir for 30 minutes.                                                                                           

2. Add5KG glacial acetic acid(HAC) into the reactor and stir for 15 minutes;

3.Add 50kg water① into reactor and then stir for 15 minutes;

4.Add80kg water② and stir it for 10 minutes, then add another120kg of water③ and continue stirring it for 10 minutes, then add another150kg of water③ and continue stirring it  for 10 minutes,the left of water③ should be added by 3 times every other5minutes and stir it until it becomes homogeneous and transparent.

5.Filter for using.
